Founder of Silver Rain Named Top 10 Hero of Korean Immigration

Silver Rain is proud to announce and congratulate our founder, Dr. Tae Yun Kim, for being selected as one of the Top 10 Heroes of Korean Immigrants! 

In 1903, a group of 102 brave Korean immigrants embarked on a journey that would lay the foundation for a rich and vibrant Korean-American community in the United States. Fast forward to 2023, and we find ourselves celebrating the 120th anniversary of this historic event. This year marks not just a milestone in history, but a celebration of the incredible contributions and achievements of Korean immigrants in America.

Out of the 1.8 million Korean immigrants who have made the U.S. their home, ten outstanding individuals have been recognized as the Top 10 Heroes of Korean Immigration. Among these remarkable individuals stands the visionary founder of Silver Rain, a shining beacon of inspiration and innovation.

The story of Korean immigration is not just a tale of numbers, but a narrative of resilience, determination, and the pursuit of dreams. Each immigrant brought with them a unique piece of their culture, contributing to the vibrant tapestry of American society. Today, these immigrants and their descendants continue to enrich the nation with their talents, hard work, and entrepreneurial spirit.

The founder of Silver Rain embodies the essence of the American Dream. Through dedication, passion, and unwavering commitment, she has not only built successful businesses but has also become a symbol of hope and inspiration for others. Her journey is a testament to the boundless possibilities that await those who dare to dream and work tirelessly to turn those dreams into reality.

Dr. Tae Yun Kim was selected because of her lifetime accomplishments as a Businesswoman and entrepreneur and being appointed as the Global Ambassador for Kukkiwon World Taekwondo.  She is the only martial artist in the world to have a monument dedicated to her at the Kukkiwon Headquarters building in Seoul, S. Korea.

In 2001, during the IMF banking crisis, the MBC TV station did a special program on Dr. Tae Yun Kim to inspire the people of Korea with her life story of overcoming challenges & achieving the American Dream. 

As a result, President Kim Dae Jung called Dr. Tae Yun Kim the “Hope of Korea & Pride of Korea” 

The celebration for the 10 Heroes will be held at the 50th Los Angeles Korean Parade on Oct 14, 2023.
